This Double Rainbow seen over the Toronto Islands was a chance photo. I was recently shooting a client event being held in the Globe & Mail Building in Toronto. During the shoot, the storm clouds began to build and everyone was worried that the guests would not be able to go out onto the beautiful terrace that overlooks the city of Toronto and the lakefront, to enjoy the scene.

Eventually, there was short but strong storm that came through the region and when it was over a unique combination of sun, clouds and mist in the air delivered their magic. I was inside the building taking shots when I noticed that the sky seem to be turning a bright orange. I ran out to the terrace to see what was going on. To my surprise and delight, the entire sky was bright orange and huge rainbow was developing over the lake and the Toronto Islands. I had never seen the sky this color before, so I began to madly take shots, for as we all know rainbows can come and go very quickly.

This image shows not only the main rainbow but also the second (double rainbow)can also be seen. The patrons went crazy over this scene, and we were all very thankful for the opportunity to see this wonderful natural occurrence.
