Capturing the beauty of Humber Bay Shores across all four seasons was a challenge that spanned over a year. My goal was to create 11 custom images that showcased this stunning area in spring, summer, fall, and winter. This required multiple trips through sweltering heatwaves and bone-chilling winter days, all to capture the essence of each season in its purest form.
One of my most special images required an entirely new perspective. Standing at the farthest point of Humber Bay West Park, I realized the only way to truly capture the scale and grandeur of this location was from above. I launched my drone, carefully composing a scene that blended the fiery autumn colors of the trees with the deep blue of Lake Ontario, all framed by the towering Toronto skyline in the distance.
This image became more than just a seasonal shot; it became a window into the experience of being there. A lone figure sat on a bench, feeding birds, adding a sense of serenity and human connection to the vast urban landscape.
This project tested my patience, endurance, and creative vision. It required countless visits in unpredictable weather, waiting for the right light, the perfect moment. But in the end, it was all worth it. This photograph, along with the other ten, tells the complete story of Humber Bay Shores—its ever-changing beauty, its peaceful corners, and its place as one of Toronto’s most scenic escapes.
Each season added its own personality, and together, they form a body of work that celebrates nature’s rhythm in the heart of the city. This image, in particular, remains one of my favorites—a truly unique perspective of a place so many love.
