The Taj Mahal is one of the world’s most cherished and beloved landmarks. It was on my "must see" bucket list since I was a young man, and most likely it’s on yours. Located in the city of Agra, India it was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1643 as a tomb for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This ivory white marble structure is an architectural beauty with perfect lines and symmetry. Arriving at the Taj Mahal via the Great gate, you are immediately awestruck by the view of the Taj Mahal as shown in this print. While there were thousands of visitors mulling around with their beautifully colored clothes, my aim was to create a more muted image that not only provides a stunning view of the building itself, but to also includes the visitors so that one may appreciate the scale of this architectural marvel.

I took hundreds if images during my visit, covering many angles, and this image is an excellent depiction of the Taj main building. The pinkish gold color tones would be an excellent match to any wall.

I waited decades to travel there, and I am so glad I did. This picture hangs on my wall as a daily reminder of one of the most special places that I’ve ever seen on this planet.
