Completing my year-long photography project at Humber Bay Shores was both exhilarating and exhausting. I set out to capture 11 custom images, each highlighting the beauty of Toronto’s east end across all four seasons. It was a challenge that tested my patience, requiring multiple visits in every type of weather—spring’s renewal, summer’s warmth, fall’s rich colors, and winter’s icy grip. I faced everything from sweltering heatwaves to bitter cold, yet each trip deepened my connection with this ever-changing landscape.

One summer morning, the project gifted me an unforgettable moment. As I walked along a rocky beach section of Humber Bay Shores, Lake Ontario stretched out before me, smooth as glass. The sky ignited with golden hues as the rising sun painted the clouds in soft amber and pink. The reflection on the still water was mesmerizing, a perfect mirror of the heavens above. I sat down, overcome by the serenity of the scene, breathing in the crisp morning air.

For a few minutes, I forgot about my camera. I just sat there, letting the moment sink in—the silence, the glow, the absolute peace. When I finally raised my camera, I knew I was capturing something timeless. This image wasn’t just about summer; it was about the spirit of Toronto’s waterfront—calm, beautiful, and ever-changing. After a year of chasing perfect conditions, I had finally found one of my most cherished shots.
