This photography project was unlike anything I had attempted before—11 custom images capturing the Humber Bay Shores area through all four seasons. It took over a year of dedication, patience, and countless trips to the East End of Toronto to complete. From the vibrant greens of spring to the golden hues of fall, each image had to reflect the true essence of the changing seasons.

Winter was the most challenging. The frigid winds off the lake made each visit an endurance test, but I was determined. On this particular day, fresh snow had blanketed the landscape, transforming everything into a pristine, white wonderland. The air was crisp, and the only sounds were the occasional gusts of wind rolling in from the cold lake. I spotted a lone bench, partially covered in snow, overlooking the brooding winter sky. It was the perfect symbol of solitude and reflection, a place for morning walkers to pause and absorb the beauty of the season.

As I set up my camera, the clouds thickened, casting a moody, dramatic tone over the lake. The bench stood steadfast against the elements, a quiet witness to winter’s embrace. The contrast of the untouched snow, the darkening sky, and the lake’s icy surface created a scene that was both serene and powerful.

This project tested my endurance, but the reward was immense. Each season brought its own challenges, but winter demanded the most patience. And in the end, it was these cold, contemplative moments that made the entire journey worthwhile.
