This Positano Print depicts one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. If you don’t believe me, just go and visit it and then let me know your thoughts. This city always had a special place in my heart, especially after I watched the movie “Only You” with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. – I literally fell in love with it. I knew that when I visited it for my first time (with my wife – the love of my life), I needed to capture as many great images of the city as I could to remember this magical trip.
We arrived at night, so I was not able to see what really made this place special, until the next day. After we made our way up the 167 steps to our rental apartment, we crashed for the night. In the morning, standing on my terrace, I then saw firsthand what made this place so special. The beautiful blue water, the beach with umbrellas lined up row upon row, and the colorful buildings that seemed to pour down the green mountain sides – WOW!
After walking around the quaint and friendly town for a few days and taking many photos, I really wanted to create an image that would capture the city from above that would include the main hillside of homes, the gold domed church, the harbor and boats floating in the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean.
I climbed up the side of one of the hillsides in Positano and found a spot that would provide the composition I imagined. I was so pleased that I was able to capture this image, the shot that I wanted. I stare at this image very often, and dream of my visit there, and also dream of when I will go back again. This city produced so many wonderful memories for me, and I am so glad to share it with you.
