The Edge of Niagara Falls, Canada in the morning is magical. Arriving at my shooting location at around 5:45am (well before sunrise), I was one of the only people at the falls' edge. Being alone with no other sounds, you could hear and feel the power of the water as it dropped 187 feet down into the gorge. As the sky began to lighten pre-dawn, you could begin to see the light hitting the falls at various locations, making the water come alive.
Taken just at sunrise, this image shows the water as it flows over the edge of the falls into the gorge with a thunderous roar. The image looks to capture both views of the water flowing over the falls. The near part of the image shows a close up the water just before it goes over the fall's edge. In the mid distance, the view shows the power of the water as it crashes into the gorge. In the far distance is the old, decommissioned Toronto Power Generating Station.
