My excitement was growing as I embarked on a mission to capture the perfect sunset photo of the New York City skyline from the top of the new Summit building at 1 Vanderbilt. My heart was set on capturing the Manhattan Skyline as the sun goes down and the lights come up. .
As I reached the summit, my trusty Gorillapod in hand, I was met with a bustling crowd of hundreds of people eager to witness the golden hour spectacle. Determined to find a vantage point, I let my creativity lead the way.
After some strategic maneuvering, I finally secured a spot where I could set up my small 12-inch Gorillapod tripod (longer tripods are not allowed). The colors of the sunset began to paint the sky, and I held my breath as I began to press the shutter button.
The result was nothing short of breathtaking – the gleaming towers of New York City looked as though someone had poured gold jewelry down upon them. As the sun set, the lights of the thousands of buildings below me began to come alive. The colors turned out perfect, with the sky turning a deep blue and the city lights becoming luminescent.
I couldn't help but feel a surge of joy as I realized that this angle was relatively new and I was one of the fortunate few to capture it. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I knew I had immortalized a moment of sheer beauty.
