The magnificent Multnomah Falls in the state of Oregon in the Pacific North West, is certainly a hidden gem. Taking the hike through the forest to this double cascading waterfalls is absolutely worth it. At 620 feet, it is the tallest waterfalls in the state of Oregon (approx. 4 times the height of Niagara Falls). Cut into basalt rock this gleaming waterfalls makes is way through the green lush forest and colorful plants and into the tidal pool below. The sounds are spectacular as the water crashes down the double falls. The wonderful Benson Footbridge, allows visitors to walk over top of the lower falls. To me this bridge is so romantic. I am sure that many marriage proposals were made on that bridge. A wonderful calming image of water and forest.
