Being able to capture this image of a romantic bathtub in a beautiful Moroccan Riad, did not come easy. I ended up in the el Fenn Riad in Marrakesh, what a place. Steeped in history and co-owned by Vannessa Branson (sister of Richard Branson) this Riad has become a fixture in not only the hotel scene, but also in the architecture and the Moroccan décor and art scene. The colors, style, art pieces, fabrics, tiles, flowers, etc were all so beautiful, so unique, a visual cornucopia of color.
I had an issue with the first room I was in, and thanks to the very gracious and hospital staff, I was moved into a huge bedroom, the exact one that “Madonna” stayed in when she was there celebrating her 60th birthday. The room was quite spectacular and in the corner of the room, just under the window and beside the gigantic ensuite, was this stunning hand formed metal, claw foot soaker tub sitting on a stitched leather floor (if never seen that before - very cool!). I just could not stop looking at how romantic it looked. If you look it up online, you’ll see Madonna standing in front of this exact tub in this room. What a connection and what an image.
I took many images of the tub, and the final one here depicts the warmth of the colors and materials of the Moroccan décor along with the light shining in through the window. What an experience.
