My first trip to Lucerne was to visit an old friend of mine, who had moved there from Munich, Germany and I was looking to enjoy some good Lucerne Nightscape Photography. My friend loved the quiet lifestyle, its walkable streets and beautiful scenery all around, and by the time our visit was over, I totally understood what he meant. We spent the first morning walking around the main downtown core, traversing its many foot bridges across the River Reuss and taking in the occasional stop at coffee, pastry and chocolate shops. The number of fantastic photo opportunities was immense. The famous Chapel Bridge, beautiful buildings, on either side of the river, lovely iron foot bridges crossing the river, the famous Lucerne Jesuit Church and lots and lots of flowers.

In this image I was standing on the Chapel Bridge watching the sunset turn into the blue hour. That special time of day when the sun has already set, the lights of the city are coming up, and the sky is a beautiful deep blue. This image captures the Jesuit Church on the left, various hotels and restaurants along the sides of the river and in the distance up on the hill, the stunning castle like Hotel Chateau Gutsch. The lights look beautiful and the reflections in the River Reuss look amazing. This was a very special moment for me as I looked at this scene develop before my eyes, I felt blessed. A beautiful place and perfect timing.
