The City of Lucerne Switzerland is a wonderful town located on Lake Lucerne and at the mouth of the Reuss River. I loved the quiet lifestyle, its walkable streets and beautiful scenery all around, and by the time my visit was over, I totally understood this place is so special.

I spent the first morning walking around the main downtown core, traversing its many foot bridges across the River Reuss and taking in the occasional stop at coffee, pastry and chocolate shops. The number of fantastic photo opportunities was immense including, the famous Chapel Bridge, beautiful buildings on either side of the river, lovely iron foot bridges crossing the river, the famous Lucerne Jesuit Church and lots and lots of flowers.

In this image I was standing on the Chapel Bridge and watching the sunset as the birds flew around and River Reuss flowed beneath my feet. This image captures the Jesuit Church on the left, various hotels and restaurants along the sides of the river and in the distance up on the hill, the stunning castle like Hotel Chateau Gutsch. The sunset sky had many clouds that provided a beautiful warm golden glow over the entire scene. Beautiful place and perfect timing.
