When I first visited Iguazu Falls in Argentina in 1982, is was the most impressive water falls I had ever seen. In 2008 it was ranked as the largest waterfall in the world. Upon seeing it again more recently, it still commands great respect. The overall height is approx. 250 ft. and a length of almost 9,000 ft. It consists of hundreds of large and smaller waterfalls, creating a breathtaking scene of which there is no comparison. The falls has been used as a backdrop for many movies, my favorite being The Mission.

This image was taken very close to one of the main falls sequences. I made my way to the bottom of the falls as close as I could get without getting soaked by the heavy mist coming off the falls. From there I managed to get the composition I wanted, showing the force of the water as is cascaded down the two main falls. I did not stay long as I was getting soaked and protecting my camera gear, was becoming an issue.

In the upper center forested area, if you look closely, you see two onlookers, giving you a sense of the scale. A truly magnificent waterfalls that needs to be seen and felt by all who can get there.
