Iceland’s natural beauty is boundless, a land where mountains, golden grassy plains, moss covered lava rock fields, beaches, waterfalls, and even geysers paint an otherworldly landscape. One of the most famous routes in this breathtaking country is the Golden Circle, a driving route that guides you through some of Iceland's most iconic sites, including the mighty Gullfoss Waterfall, Thingvellir National Park, and the remarkable Strokkur Geyser.
It was early morning when we arrived at Strokkur, a perfect time before the throngs of visitors crowded the area. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm, golden glow across the landscape. The anticipation built as we set up our cameras, ready to capture the magic that was about to unfold, timing is everything. Strokkur is famous for its regular eruptions, shooting boiling water up to 20-30 meters into the air every few minutes. The geyser’s power and predictability make it one of the most popular attractions in Iceland.
As we watched, Strokkur’s pool began to bubble and churn, a sure sign that an eruption was imminent. Then, with a roar, the geyser exploded upward, sending a plume of water skyward. The early morning light caught the spray, creating a stunning spectacle of color and motion. Each eruption was unique, some more powerful than others, but all equally mesmerizing. The repetitive nature of Strokkur’s eruptions allowed us to experience this wonder multiple times, each one offering a new photographic opportunity.
