During one of my visits to New York City, I made it a point that I would finally take some time to visit the famous Grand Central Terminal (aka - Grand Central Station). I love trains and therefore I needed to see the second busiest train station in America (just behind Penn Station, also in NYC). The Beaux-Arts design of this architectural wonder is truly amazing. It not only looks like a piece of art but it actually has numerous works of art within its walls. This train terminal, especially the main concourse (pictured here) is also famous for the many movies that have been filmed here such as: Men in Black, Hawkeye, The Avengers, Superman, I am Legend and The French Connection. The history, design and movies filmed here, makes Grand Central Station a must see stop on any visit to NYC.

The afternoon that we visited, there was a huge American Flag hanging from the roof in the main concourse. To me that added a bit of uniqueness to this image. The light coming into the building at just the right angle, along with the building’s interior lighting, gave a beautiful warm color to the stone walls. The ceiling is also a marvel to behold. The main green-blue color has gold painted stars and recessed lighting to create numerous astrological constellations. In the center of the concourse is the huge brass clock which is truly a statement piece. The rest of the complex is as beautiful, so make sure you take a good walk around.
