The Chicago's Sculpture called "Cloud Gate" is one of the most striking architectural sculptures you will ever see. Polished to a mirror finish, this artistic marvel transcends most public artworks. This public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, is the centerpiece of AT&T Plaza at Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. Nicknamed “the bean” it is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It measures 33 by 66 by 42 feet (10 by 20 by 13 m).

Kapoor's design was inspired by liquid mercury and the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. When I first approached it, I was mesmerized by the reflectivity. As you walk around, underneath it and look at it from afar, you are immediately and constantly captivated by its magnetic visual appeal.

Tough to get an image with no people in it, as it is so popular. My version of this beautiful sculpture is in black and white as I feel it brings out the best of the power of the mirrored surface.
