The night of March 14, 2025, was one I’ll never forget. A Total Lunar Eclipse—one of the rarest celestial events—was set to grace the Northern Hemisphere, and I was determined to capture it. These eclipses only happen about once every three years, and even then, visibility depends on location, timing, and, most frustratingly, the weather.
I started shooting at midnight, anxiously watching the sky. Clouds loomed, threatening to obscure the moon at any moment. My heart pounded with uncertainty, but then, as if the universe was on my side, the sky cleared completely. Over the next six hours, I tracked every stage of the eclipse, from the first shadow to the deep crimson glow of totality and then its gradual return to full brightness.
Capturing the eclipse was no easy task. The light conditions changed drastically, requiring constant adjustments to my camera settings. As the moon dimmed into its eerie red glow, finding the perfect exposure was critical. Too bright, and the details were lost. Too dark, and the image lacked depth. Precision was everything.
By the time the event ended, I had a complete visual story of this breathtaking transformation. Seeing my final composition—each phase of the eclipse laid out in sequence—was incredibly rewarding. It felt like witnessing time itself in a single frame. Moments like this remind me why I fell in love with photography. I feel blessed to share this image with you—a rare glimpse into the magic of the cosmos.
