As a wildlife photographer, my dream was to capture the magnificence of the African Buffalo like it had never been done before. So, when I set out on my safari in South Africa, I had one goal in mind - to take a striking photograph of the buffalo.

But little did I know that this journey was going to be a heroic one, full of challenges and obstacles that I had to overcome. My barriers were many - finding the right location by land rover, getting close enough that it wouldn't cause the animal to attack us, keeping totally silent, not being able to leave the land rover vehicle for safety sake, and not getting killed in a buffalo herd stampede.

Thankfully, our guide was an expert in tracking down the location of the herd of buffalo. We drove through rugged terrain, and after a few hours, we finally spotted the magnificent creature. My heart was racing with excitement as I got my camera ready on the bean bag since tripods weren't usable. But the challenges didn't end there. I had to get the camera settings just right and wait for the selected buffalo to get into a good position for the photo. It required patience and perseverance, but I was determined to succeed despite the odds.

And just as I was getting ready to take the shot, the herd of buffalo began to stampede right toward us! It was a moment of sheer terror, but we quickly drove away to safety. But not before I snapped numerous images of the oncoming herd.

The thrill of being in the wilds of Africa was an experience like no other, and the danger only added to the excitement. It was a dream come true, to photograph the African Buffalo, one of the Big Five African animals, and to create a memory of a dream location on safari.

Looking back on this adventure, I realized that my unique attribute was my determination to succeed despite the obstacles. And even though it wasn't easy, the end result was worth every challenge and every heart-pumping moment.
